bridal gown alterations
Every lady’s figure is beautifully unique, it is therefore incredibly important to ensure your bridal gown fits in a way that helps you feel confident, comfortable and gorgeous on your big day. Most wedding gowns require some level of alteration, even if only a few small adjustments. Common alterations include; straps, bust, waist, hips, and hem, all carefully tailored to suit you and your dress.
Some gowns require more detailed or complex alterations to achieve the look you envision, and many brides also choose to add discreet bustle points. These allow the train or skirt to be lifted after the ceremony, making it easier to move, dance, and fully enjoy the celebrations.
Brides who require minimal to standard alterations can expect to need a budget of approximately £300–£450, inclusive of fitting and administration fees. More complex alteration work typically starts from £550 and may require additional fittings, which should be factored into both time and budget.
A minimum of three fittings is recommended to ensure the best possible result. To avoid disappointment, brides are encouraged to book 6–12 months in advance, as Hope’s diary fills quickly. Please note that, as this is a bespoke service, fittings take place during daytime hours.
